Saturday 18th September – walk **** – Landguard circuit blackberrying – sunny, still and hot:)

What a top day as the summer continues here on the east coast with another hot, sunny and still day, September has been much better than August but that is often the way! It was a bit cloudy to start but that soon cleared so had a great morning at home doing my exercises and taking pics of the insects while Mag enjoyed clearing out the garden shed. Then I packed a roll and we drove down to The Manor for a picnic and to collect blackberries managing to park in the road free around two. We walked over the hills offering good views over the docks to the right with the beach to the left with paddle board, a windsurfer, open water swimmers, fishermen and people just enjoying an afternoon on the beach with a big flock of starling flying around:) Down on the grassy heathland there are so many blackberry bushes that we had to stop and collect some and soon got a big container full as windsurfing mate Neil Hurrell arrived out on his bike. We then all walked together to our spot on the old jetty for our late lunch watching the yachts enter the Orwell in the glistening sea, pretty as a picture, someone even arrived on a bike and strung up his Hamock:) After a nice chat with Neil he headed off to the view point as we collected another big tube of blackberries, just love it. Did not get home until 5 but still had cuppa and cake after washing the 6 pounds of blackberries which Mag is now turning into jam:) With another day of no wind tomorrow perhaps we can get out on the bikes?

I was wondering if you would like to take a minute to vote for my pic in this years Felixstowe Photo Competition. My picture is FFF in the seashore section – all votes are greatly appreciated:)
